From Peru, its terruqueo and saqueo: a continuum of (racist) violence

Next Wednesday, March 29, 2023, from 12:30 p.m. to 1 a.m., Sarah Kerremans will speak about the recent waves of protest and state repression in Peru during the fifth meeting of the Spanish-speaking meetings on human rights in Latin America. Sarah Kerremans is conducting her PhD research on indigenous human rights accountability and duty bearers notions and practices in the northern Peruvian Amazon, and her talk is titled “From Peru, its terruqueo and saqueo: a continuum of (racist) violence”.

The meeting will take place at the Freedom of Assembly Room (first floor of the Human Rights Centre building). These brief exchanges in Spanish take place every last Wednesday of the month and are coordinated by PhD researcher Mario Andrés Torres, in the framework of the Human Rights in Context Program led by Prof.Clara Burbano Herrera.
